It has been used in China for over 3000 years. In its country of origin it is not an alternative form of therapy, but is used in state hospitals alongside Western medicine. It includes the therapies of Chinese Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture.

This is one of the great herbal traditions in the world and has gained popularity in the West since the 1980's. All herbs have well documented pharmacological properties and can therefore be used with traditional diagnosis as well as utilising modern clinical research.
Herbs have the ability to help manage chronic conditions by supporting and nourishing the body, and can be used either alongside western drugs or in isolation.
Adverse reactions to Chinese herbs are extremely rare and are negligible when compared to those commonly produced by pharmaceutical drugs.
Herbs are usually supplied as either a concentrated powder or granules, raw dried herbs, capsules/pills or tinctures. We do NOT use any endangered species or at present, any animal or mineral products.

The community ear acupuncture sessions will run 2:30-3:30pm and 4:00-5:00pm on Wednesdays.
Each £10 session will have a maximum of 8 people in the group, and will last an hour. That hour includes time for me to settle everyone in and set up their needles, then 40 minutes of relaxation, followed by time for me to take the needles out.
You’ll be sitting down for the entire session. The treatment will start with me inserting five sterilised single-use disposable acupuncture needles into your outer ear, at five specific points:

Sympathetic – calms the nervous system and helps with overall relaxation.

Shen Men / “Spirit Gate” – reduces anxiety and nervousness.

Kidney Point – for calming fears and healing internal organs.

Liver Point – for detoxification, blood purification, and to quell aggression.

Lung Point – promotes aeration and helps clients let go of grief.

Is a technique associated with acupuncture. Application of ignited moxa (Artemisia Vulgaris) is used to warm acu-points for regulating Qi and increasing blood circulation.
It is also the method of choice for turning breech babies.
A small electric current is passed between pairs of acupuncture needles. This technique can augment the use of regular acupuncture, and is particularly good for treating pain.
