Endometriosis is thought to affect 1 in 10 women of reproductive age in the UK. Despite the prevalence of the condition, it can take on average 7.5 years to obtain a diagnosis after symptoms first start. Pain is one of the most common symptoms and as part of the RCHM’s “Getting To the Root” series on painful conditions, I will try to explain how Chinese Medicine understands endometriosis and why anyone trying to manage their symptoms with Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) should seek help from a well-trained practitioner.
