Charlotte initially did a degree in English Literature and had a career in English Language teaching and journalism before switching to traditional Chinese Medicine. She graduated from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine with a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture in 2029 and then completed a three-year diploma in Chinese Herbal Medicine with the White Crane Academy.
She has a level 5 qualification and is in the final year of BTEC Level 6 in sports and clinical massage with Jing Advanced Massage Training. This is the highest qualification in massage in the UK. The Jing method is a mixture of Eastern and Western techniques including myofascial release, Swedish, trigger point sand stretching. It is a slow and deep form of massage. She is also trained in hot stones.
She has a particular interest in musculoskeletal issues, headaches and temporomandibular disorder.
Her partner is Tibetan, from a family of nomads the Amdo region. In 2024, she visited his family there and is (slowly!) learning Tibetan.
Charlotte has an MA in creative writing and enjoys writing poetry. She also trained in Sivananda yoga and has visited ashrams all over the world, including India.
